ByGuides WriterSkyrim has been out for almost 8 years at this point, but that hasn’t stopped a large swath of players logging in each week. This is largely due to the vibrant modding community that surrounds the game, making substantial upgrades to bring it more in-line with more modern experiences. The problem is, there are separate mods for each platform, and there are literally thousands to choose from. To help you out, we’ve been busy collecting a definitive list of the best Skyrim Mods for PC, Xbox One and PS4.Skyrim Mods - Outfits, Visual Mods, and moreSkyrim is a fantastic game, there’s certainly no doubting it.
Add photos to pdf. It is a little rough around the edges, and ripe for modding, which is why it has one of the most active modding communities of any game currently available. Here’s some of the best:.
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - arthmoor. Enhanced Blood Textures - DDfinder. Immersive Citizens - Dorchymont. Diverse Dragons Collection - OpusGlass. A Quality World Map 9.0 - Chesko. True Storms - Fading Signal. Realistic Water - Isoku.
The Forgotten City - Modernstoryteller. More Kills and Decapitations - Sp0ckrates. Cloaks of Skyrim - Langnao. Alternate Start - Arthmoor. Skyrim Xbox One ModsXbox has the most substantial modding support when compared to other consoles. Official mods are supported via the Bethesda modding site, and while there aren’t nearly as many mods as on PC, there’s plenty to work with.
We’ve listed the best Xbox One Skyrim Mods below:Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch -: this is the ultimate quality of life mod for the Special Edition of Skyrim. It aims to fix every bug not addressed by the developer, and does a damn good job of it. Well worth checking out for general stability fixes.Enhanced Blood Textures -: Skyrim is a brutal, violent experience at times, which makes the sub-par blood effects even more noticeable. This mod remedies this, adding in realistic blood spatter and textures.Immersive Citizens -: This AI Overhaul is a mod whose purpose is to increase player in-game immersion by greatly improving Artificial Intelligence (AI) of friendly NPCs (citizens) in order to make them act and react like true humans in relation to their environment or to an aggressor.Diverse Dragons Collection - s: Dragons are a pretty big part of Skyrim, though their designs in the base game are kind of lackluster. This mod adds a bunch of new diversity to the dragons of Skyrim, including new breath attacks, and ranks.A Quality World Map 9.0 -: This mod provides a new set of highly-detailed world map textures, complete with most roads! The roads shown were artistically selected by IcePenguin.
This mod also adds a detailed Solsteim map.Aternate Start: Thank the Gods, this mod removes the lengthy intro sequence from Skyrim. Perfect for those wanting to jump back in with a new build.Ordinator: If you want to add more perks to Skyrim on Xbox One, look no further than. It adds 400 perks to the skill tree, from mage skills to warrior perks. Skyrim PC ModsOnto PC Mods now, and there’s even more to choose from. We've included some of the best Skyrim PC Mods we could find below, ranging from quality of life upgrades, visual fixes, and more.True Storms -: Skyrim already has some truly hostile weather, though this mod really takes it to the next level.
It’s really shines in mountain areas, and by the sea. Just remember to pack some thick fur and armor.Realistic Water -: One of the many upgrades to Skyrim Special Edition is the new water flow system that allows water to bend around turns and change speed depending on the environment. While the water is much improved over the original edition of Skyrim, water flow was applied to most bodies of water indiscriminately resulting in odd looking water at times. With this mod, lake, pond/marsh, river and ocean water are once again visually and aurally distinct from one another. The Forgotten City -: The Forgotten City is an award-winning, critically acclaimed expansion mod offering a unique 6 - 8 hour experience: a murder mystery investigation set in an ancient underground city.
It’s well worth checking out if you’re looking for a new storyline to explore.More Kills and Decapitations -: You know those awesome slow-motion kill moves that you can trigger in Skyrim? Well, this mod increases the likelihood that they will trigger. It significantly improves the combat, making it much more varied and action-packed.Cloaks and Capes of Skyrim -: There’s a severe lack of badass cloaks in Skyrim. Thankfully then, this mod adds a bunch in, and they sure are badass.Apocalypse - Magic Of Skyrim -: This is a giant spell package, adding in 155 new spells to the game.
Each school gets 31 new spells with high quality custom effects and animations.Climates of Tamriel -: Climates of Tamriel is a comprehensive weather, lighting, effects and audio overhaul for Skyrim Special Edition. The mod is widely regarded as the number one weather and lighting mod for Skyrim with the 32bit version racking up over 8 million downloads to date. Skyrim PS4 ModsFinally, we have Skyrim PS4 Mods.
Due to some frustrating Sony policies, there are significantly fewer mods for Skyrim on PS4. There are still some great ones to be found though, and we’ve listed them below:Faster Levelling -: This mod gives you a small boost in XP earning rates. This is perfect for those who wish to get through the game faster, or those who are working on a new build or character.Phenderix Magic Evolved -: Phenderix Magic Evolved (PME) is the largest and most comprehensive spell mod available for the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Currently, it adds approximately 400 new spells to the game. This is a massive sandbox collection of balanced spells that I strongly encourage you to download and try out.Rain and Snow FX -: Rain and Snow FX allows your character to show frost and wetness (complete with dripping particle effects) when in the rain and in snowstorms. It really adds to the immersion of the game.
Definitely worth a download.Rich Merchants Of Skryim -: One of the most frustrating things about Skyrim is the low amount of coins available for merchants to spend. It makes it extremely difficult to sell anything, which is why this mod is so handy. It increases Merchant gold values to 10,000.Dolomite Weathers And Lighting Overhaul -: For our money, this is the best mod of its kind on PS4. It seriously improves weather and lighting, especially in green areas.Alidon's Ultimate Armory -Katana Pack -: What's coller than a katana, nothing!
This mod adds ten different types to Skyrim, perfect for striking down your enemies in style. How to Install Mods in SkyrimThe way you install mods in Skyrim differs by platform. It also depends on whether you want to install official or unofficial mods.
We’ve included all of the info you need to know. Xbox One - to install mods on Xbox One, head into the pause menu and select the modding option. From here, you can browse mods that you want to add to the game.
PS4 - The same method applies here, though there are a lot less mods available. PC - For Unofficial mods, you can install the Nexus Launcher (If you wish to install official mods, head to the official Bethesda website via the links provided above. You can then add mods to the library tied to your Bethesda.net account. These can then be applied in-game.We’ll be adding more and more Skyrim mods as we find them. Be sure to check back for future updates.
Even Better Quest Objectives BethesdaHow many of you got stuck trying to figure out that first Golden Claw door?Me too. Because the vanilla version of Skyrim simply points you at a given quest marker and ostensibly says, 'Go on then! Figure it out!'
Such an approach to game design is definitely routed in the old school, and whilst we don't need fancy 'vision modes' highlighting the correct path, a little more detail in the Quest Log would've worked a treat.Praise be to WilliamImm, then, who's laboriously gone over the details for 'nearly 250 quest objectives/descriptions, spanning 160 quests, editing descriptions that were either really vague or didn't exist at all.' You're the hero Tamriel deserves, William.
Enderal: The Shards Of OrderIf there's one Skyrim mod that best stands as an example of what is possible to achieve with a total overhaul, it would easily be Enderal. The mod presents an entirely new world with its own characters, lore, races, and history completely separate from The Elder Scrolls universe, even featuring all-new voice acting.Enderal takes place in the land of Vyn and serves as the sequel to the previous Oblivion total overhaul mod, Nehrim. Much like with the base Skyrim, you could easily sink 80 or more hours into Enderal, exploring every nook and cranny and finding all the various quests and characters. If you like the idea of an open-world RPG like Skyrim but aren't keen on the dumbed-down RPG elements or the story-lite approach, Enderal is frankly a better experience than the base game, with a more compelling story. Beyond Skyrim: BrumaThe massive Beyond Skyrim project seeks to add all the lands of Tamriel into the Skyrim experience. Instead of only being able to explore within the borders of the game's namesake nation, this gigantic work-in-progress will eventually add in Morrowind, Elswyr, Atmora, Iliac Bay, and many other locations across the continent. That's sort of an Elder Scrolls fanatic's dream come true, although it still remains a dream for now. At the moment, most of these mods are still very much in-progress affairs, but Bruma is now fully available for download, letting your Skyrim character explore locations like Frostcrag Spire, Cloud Ruler Temple, and Frostfire Glade. The city of Bruma itself features a huge cast of additional characters with their own quests and voice acting, drastically expanding out the base game.
What you get now is already pretty amazing, but when the entire set of mods is done, Beyond Skyrim is going to be jaw-dropping. VigilantBringing a whole lot of Darks Souls or Bloodborne influence into The Elder Scrolls, this mod adds in four new chapters, complete with new areas that play with the concept of the Vigilants of Stendarr standing against the forces of Oblivion. Each chapter builds on the last, pulling you in and constantly increasing in quality and length.
A little over halfway through, the Vigilant mod basically goes full throttle into horror, providing a very different experience than your standard Skyrim playthrough.Yes, there are also devastatingly hard bosses like you'd expect from a Dark Souls-styled mod, so get ready to rethink your character build after dying the first few (dozen?) times! Beyond ReachAlthough this mod isn't quite done yet, it is much farther along than other mods of its scale and can currently be downloaded and played.
You essentially get an unofficial DLC here, with a vast new area in the east of High Rock and a bunch of additional quests based heavily around exploration.New factions, voice acting, armor, weapons, and spells all await you in this gray land ravaged by pox and despair. Be on the lookout for this one to get even bigger and better in the coming months. Obviously, total conversion mods are an ambitious and time-consuming undertaking, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that there are only a few that are feature-complete already. What did you think of our six best Skyrim total conversion picks here, and are there any others we missed that should get added?Beyond these finished mods, there are plenty more in development, like Skyblivion (exactly like it sounds, porting all of the quests and locations from Oblivion into Skyrim) or the Nordic-inspired Hoddminir total conversion project. Others, like the horror-focused Virus mod, are currently under review and no longer up for download, but hopefully they will return soon.Still need more mods to change up your Skyrim experience? We've got plenty others well worth downloading, so you should take a look at these:.

As I've mentioned in other threads, I'm doing a Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout 3/Fallout New Vegas/Fallout 4 run lately and several of these games I've never played. I have indeed played Skyrim before, though - but I've only dabbled in Special Edition for a handful of hours. I'm nearing the end of Oblivion this week and while I'm not yet sure whether I'll move on to Fallout 3 or Skyrim next, I figured I'd make a thread for opinions on which PS4 mods are best for improving immersion (ie weather, lighting, etc). And maybe I'll dabble in some gameplay improvement mods too (like I saw a cool NPC realism enhancement mod - not sure whether that'd fall under immersion or gameplay, but yeah). What I'm not looking for is lore-breaking funny stuff like the Thomas the Tank Engine mod, lol. How to disable touchpad on dell laptop windows 10. I applaud that stuff but it's not really my aim here. I'd just like to improve the beauty and immersion of the game to get sucked in all the more so.
I know the PS4 restricts me to a handful of the stuff available on other platforms but I've taken a quick glance and there seem to be a few cool mods. But the community here is bound to have a better answer than my super-amateur self could muster. Are there any particular mods to keep an eye out for? Are there any I should particularly avoid? For cosmetic improvement mods I have the fallen trees, additional lamp posts, additional way signs and visually overhauled towns with unique guard attire and unique house decoration.
Those are imo all things that visually enhance the game without compromising the original artistic vision the creators had. I for example wouldn't add a different weather mod, that doesn't fit to Skyrim's climate or more trees in towns where they don't belong.I do also have some quality of life improvement mods affecting gameplay, like followers and spouses not being able to die, vampires not attacking towns and merchants being richer.I'd gladly use a dragons not attacking towns mod, for some reason there is none though. I really hate fast travelling to a town and in 90% of all cases a dragon appearing and wrecking the place. This one made me chuckle. Thanks for the recommendations! I looked these up and they all sound good for what I'm looking for.I did some digging and found a good Reddit post. I haven't had a chance to look into all of these yet and I can already tell some aren't gonna work for me but some of it does look pretty nifty.
Be advised it doesn't contain a load order suggestion but the OP has a link that seems to cover that alright. For some reason that link seems to be for my app so if it doesn't work just search 'Skyrim PS4 best mods Reddit' and it ought to be the top suggestion.I may chat more about these later tonight when I check them out but I won't be moving on to Skyrim just yet so I can't test them!
